MEET NYXELE
Curandera (Practitioner of Curanderismo) • Reiki Master • Herbalist • Intuitive Reader
My work is rooted in a lifelong calling to help others feel supported, empowered, understood, and more deeply connected to themselves.
After more than two decades working in the medical field, I developed a deep respect for compassionate care, human connection, and the importance of meeting people with presence and dignity.
But the roots of my spiritual practice began long before Nyxele ever became a business.
My relationship with curanderismo did not begin with a title. It began at home, through the traditions, remedies, prayers, protections, stories, and intuitive knowing carried by the women who came before me.
Limpias, egg cleansings, protections against mal de ojo, altars to saints, prayer, household remedies, spiritual practices, and the quiet knowing of when something simply needed to be done were all woven into my upbringing. Long before I understood there was a name for what I was witnessing, I already knew what it felt like to live within it. I still hear my Mommy (grandma) saying, “I know there’s something you’re not telling me! What is it?”
As an adult, I began looking more deeply into those traditions, my ancestry, and the practices that had surrounded me growing up. Through continued study and personal practice, I have worked to deepen that connection with intention, humility, and respect.
Today, I practice as a Curandera (Practitioner of Curanderismo), Reiki Master, Herbalist, and Intuitive Reader, bringing together the traditions I inherited, the knowledge I have continued to seek, and the intuitive gifts I have learned to trust.
My work may include intuitive guidance, tarot, Reiki, limpias and spiritual cleansing, ritual, prayer, botanical preparations, and other practices rooted in my personal spiritual path and curanderismo traditions.
Through my own life experiences, I have also come to understand that transformation rarely happens in a straight line. Sometimes we move forward, sometimes we rest, sometimes we rebuild, and sometimes we are called to meet the parts of ourselves we once tried to hide.
I believe becoming whole does not mean becoming someone entirely new.
Sometimes it means remembering who you were before the world taught you to forget.
THE BIRTH OF NYXELE
Nyxele did not begin with a business plan, a storefront, or a perfectly designed space. It began simply at my dining-room table. There, I found myself naturally helping those around me through personal challenges, answering questions during difficult seasons of life, or helping them through things I was creating before I even thought of them as products. Unexpectedly, somehow one conversation turned into another, one creation became another, and word traveled. Somehow, it all gradually became something greater than I ever expected.
I found myself holding space for others ~ rooted in care, intuition, spiritual connection, personal empowerment, and the freedom to become more fully themselves.
The dining room eventually became an office, and what had started quietly at home somehow reached people across the world ~ far beyond those first conversations.
Over time, the different pieces of my journey ~ intuitive guidance, tarot, Reiki, curanderismo, ritual work, herbalism, and handcrafted offerings ~ began to come together.
And from that journey, Nyxele was born.
THE STORY WITHIN THE NAME
Nyxele (pronounced Nix-ele)
At its heart, Nyxele is about honoring the whole person.
The light.
The shadow.
The lessons.
The becoming.
The name Nyxele was created from two worlds.
Nyx draws inspiration from the Goddess of the Night, representing mystery, resilience, strength, intuition, and transformation. It also holds a deeply personal connection to the many years I spent working through the night, when perseverance was often built quietly, long after the rest of the world had gone still.
Ele was intentionally chosen to carry both legacy and light. It honors my name, lovingly chosen and spelled with one L by my Daddy (grandpa), who named and raised me. My name carries the meaning “Who is like God,” reflecting humility, divine connection, and the strength we carry within. Ele also came to represent light for me ~ illumination, warmth, truth, and the light that continues to exist even through our darkest seasons.
Together:
Nyx + Ele = Nyxele
The meeting of shadow and light.
Not light meant to erase the darkness.
Not transformation that asks us to pretend the past never happened.
But the understanding that our experiences can shape us without defining
the limits of who we are allowed to become.
Nyxele represents strength and softness.
Darkness and illumination.
Legacy and becoming.
Because transformation is not about abandoning every shadow.
It is about recognizing the light that was there all along.
